If you played the original Insurgency, you'll know why many of its fans are so hyped for the sequel. It may not actually be a Call of Duty killer, but it's the kind of hardcore shooter experience that many fans of Counter-Strike and other PC shooters are always looking for. I'm a big fan of Call of Duty, especially WW2's return to non-futuristic gameplay. But smaller, hardcore games like this one provide gamers with a nice alternative to AAA and all its loot-box infested shenanigans. Insurgency: Sandstorm looks every bit as good as the first game and Day of Infamy, but with much better graphics. Hopefully it's as good as it looks.

It comes to PC, PS4 and Xbox One sometime in 2018. It'll be interesting to see how it does on console.
