Improving Game Stability

• Install game a place other than C:Program Files
• Disable Steam Overlay.
• Set Witcher game executable to run under administrator rights and in compatibility mod.
• Install 4 GB patch.Since Witcher 1 is an 32 bit game and can’t use more than 2 GB of memory we will need the 4 GB patch to make it use higher amounts of RAM. This will ensure a faster game and prevent most of the game crashes. Download it below:

• Witcher Rise of the White Wolf Enhanced Edition:

  Completey overhauls the UI. Some people love it and some people hate it. It is about your taste. Just don’t forget to install install the compatibility patches in the next section if you are going to use this UI mod.

• Witcher Black Edition and Witcher Inferno Edition:

  If you are not gonna use Rise of the White Wolf UI Mod i strongly suggest using one of these 2 mods. Greatly improves the UI without changing the core aspects of the original UI.

• Witcher Bigger Text Mod:

  If you are having problem to reading Witcher’s small texts this mod is for you.

• Witcher Extreme Immersion Mod:

  Superb mod. Remove many unneeded parts from UI for improving the immersion. Only suggested if you are playing the Witcher second time.

• Witcher Mini Hud Mod:

Textures and Graphic Improvements

1. Force the game to use High Resolution Textures all time:
2. Install the Texturen mod.

   Normally there is a better graphic overhaul mod for Witcher now but the reason we are installing this first is to cover the graphics that other mod does not and most importantly Texturen’s great FXs.

3. Now the biggest improvement both for textures and sounds, install the Witcher Overhaul Project and overwrite the Texturen files.
4. Witcher Onkl’s Sound Mod:

   Tones down some annoying voices like Teleport Gate sound and quiets Alvin`s saying the same line when enemies are near.

Quest Fixes/Improvements

• Thanks to this mod now you can now sell Salamandra badges to Leuvaarden.
• This one will give you the option to really complete a certain quest in Chapter 4.
• This one will fix the reward of a certain quest in Chapter 2.
• Sex takes time is a very nice improvement on sex events.

Gameplay Mods

• Flash’s Mod.The mod offers higher difficulty levels, game balance, bugfixes and new features. You can see, select/unselect the features you want during the installation.
• Better Color Coding For Alchemy. Suggested. Really improves the game by enhancing alchemical color codings.
• Stacking Items. Invertory space is jammed and you are having problems with it? What about stacking items? You have two options:First one is better i think, because the second mod is like a cheat.
• One of the best potions in the game is the Blizzard potion. But if you hate its blur effect this mod is for you.
• You think Geralt moves a little slow? Install this mod for a faster Geralt:
• If you hate the Dice Poker games lasts forever here you go. Win or lost in one round:
• Free rest an inns:
• Is it hard to travel between Swamps and Vizima? Then only for you the teleportation technology!
• If you can not get enough herbs:
• You want to have a storage at Swamps or at Chapter 5?

  If you have Full Combat Rebalance(FCR) installed then install this:

• You think the default Swalllow Potion for 2 hours is not enough?
• No Cemetery Drowners. So you are at Chapter 5 and can’t get anything because of those low-level annoying drowners. Solution is here:
• You got depressed from the constant rain in the Swamps? Then stop it!

• Full Combat Rebalance (FCR):

  Note: This mod is not suggested at your first play!

  The Full Combat Rebalance mod is, so far, the biggest modification created for The Witcher. The combat mechanics have been remade almost from the scratch. The fights have became more brutal, they need more tactics and strategy, but on the other hand the combat system rules have become more logical.

  The combat in FCR could be unforgiving sometimes. If you don’t like it, Flash’s Mod is a better for choice if you are looking for increased difficulty..
